Life Lessons

I really have not blogged since graduation and I felt like it was time to start again. I always find writing to be so therapeutic..... maybe that is why I am so good at writing my 4 friends on missions. The past month of my life has been a whirlwind. From friends and conference to the experience of opening myself up to someone to only be rejected and shot down.... like I said this month has been a whirlwind. Here are a few of the things that I personally have been thinking about. 1. I need to straighten up my priorities. Conference really made me realize that while my education is an important thing, I really need to focus on preparing to be married in the temple and raising a family. Honestly, I can't say that it is going to happen anytime soon, but it something I should have my heart set on. Don't get me wrong, I have always wanted to get married and have a family, but I just feel at this point in time I need to start putting more focus on it. 2. Opening up to people is not necessarily a bad thing. Yes, you may get hurt in the end, but being honest and open feels so much better than keeping your emotions in for so long that you go crazy. I have now tried both ways and yes, the first way hurts a lot more if you are rejected but at least you never wonder...... 3. The Lord has a plan for each and every one of us. I thought I knew were my life was going and I think the Lord just laughed, because that is not what he had planned for me. 4. I need to get to the temple more often. 5. I am so grateful for the friends that I have in my life. Both on and off of missions. They bring so much joy into my life. These friends are there for me both in the good and the bad. They have my back and are always willing to talk. A special shout out goes to Brianna because she has been listening to me A LOT over the past 2 weeks. I am so glad that our friendship has been strengthened by the experiences we have shared together. 6. I am so grateful for the gospel. I don't know what I would do if I didn't know that Jesus Christ is always there for me and has felt all my pains, joys, and sorrows. Well this is it for now. I am going to try to blog more often. I love you all!

Life is always a repeat?

Do you ever have situations that just seem to repeat in your life? That is how my life seems to be. I relive the same situation with just a tiny bit different factors. It's like I am cursed. I can't seem to get out of this rut. Most of the time, said situations involve others, and I am sure they have the nicest intentions, but it never really turns out.... for me at least. I love being the "friend" and all but sometimes it gets old. Sometimes having people open up to you is not as fun when there are tiny pieces that involve you which they know nothing about. I had just been thinking about this a lot and thought I would share.

Complicated..... I know. You can just say it's my life.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!

Last night, I was finishing my paper for my 492 class. I was stressing just a little because it wasn't the full page requirement. It was a well written paper so I went ahead and turned it in. This was my last thing to do as an undergraduate. Well I got my grade back this morning.... it's an A. I got my A's this semester! I am done with school!!! Graduation here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!

Days when you feel like crap.

So this week I had the begginings of a cold. I sounded/ looked terrible, but in all I didn't feel that bad and I could still breathe. Last night it all sank in. Talk about no sleep because you can't breathe through either nostril.

Anyways this morning, I felt like crap so I threw my hair up in a messy bun and put on my juicy track suit. When I got on the bus this morning, the bus drivers said "You look cute today, where are you going?" CUTE?!?!?!? Really? I feel like crap and have my hair in a HUGE messy bun and am wearing a track suit. Got to love the days when you feel you look like crap and others think you look good.

Shmoosing/ Christmas spirit

So tonight, I was asked to present my research to the Arizona Board of Regents and be there for a little reception before their dinner. When I got to the McPark building, we were given instructions to not talk unless spoken to. As the regents came in we politely said our hello's and what not. Finally one of the teachers told us to talk and then we were asked to go mingle with our guests. All 3 university (UofA, NAU, ASU) presidents were there and then the board of regents. President Shelton greeted me and then continued to say that he liked my bow (I was wearing a black headband with a big bow on it). In all the night was just weird/ interesting. We were basically there to shmoose. It was just kind of awkward. Too bad I don't drink because there was an open bar and we were all welcome to get a drink.

On another note I watched Glee tonight and holy cow. Talk about putting me in the Christmas spirit. I have been so busy with school and graduating that I had once again forgotten Christmas spirit. Glee reminded me of how fortunate I am. As soon as I get home, I am going and picking a Christmas Angel!I want to be able to spread the many blessings I have in my life to those less fortunate.

On a side note, can I just say how much I love Christmas music. I can't stop listening to it. I listen to it so much that I may run out of Pandora hours!

May you all be so blessed and enjoy this Christmas Season! Love you all!

Sick+Finals+Stress= No Bueno!

So it's the last week of school. I thought I would be fine...... until Sunday during church I realized how much I actually had to do this week. Um a ten page single spaced paper (group which is even worse), a 7 page paper, and a 6-7 page paper, preceptor write up/ log...... um SHOOT! I seriously freaked that I left church early. Do you ever have those times when your mind just starts racing and it won't slow down. Ya, that was me.

So I was starting to feel a little better Monday when I was able to accomplish a lot! Then, I got sick. I honestly feel like crap. My throat hurts and I sound/ look like crap. I have no color in my face whatsoever. Just great. Stress of everything from above and now being sick?!?!? Seriously, do I not get a break. I have not been sick ALL semester, of course it would have to be now.

I have only 10 days left until graduation. I will get through being sick and all this stress that comes with projects simply by remembering Graduation! I just keep telling myself, much like the little train, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I CAN!"
